Missouri Disaster Legal Assistance (MDLA)
When a major disaster has been declared in Missouri, Missouri Disaster Legal Assistance (MDLA) delivers free civil legal assistance on legal matters that result from the natural disaster.
Administered by the four legal aid programs in Missouri, the MDLA service helps survivors navigate issues such as FEMA benefit claims, insurance law, landlord-tenant disputes, real estate law, consumer fraud and scams, bankruptcy, and family law. All information provided through the MDLA service is completely confidential.
- Must be an individual or family affected by a declared major disaster in Missouri (following a Presidential major disaster declaration).
- Must meet the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) income guidelines.
Call the Missouri legal aid program that serves the county where the affected household lives to request disaster-related civil legal help.
