Jasper County Assessor’s Office (IN) – Disaster Property Tax Relief (Form 137R)
Jasper County taxpayers who have experienced significant damage or complete loss to structures on their property due to a disaster may be eligible for property tax relief.
By filing a Form 137R for reassessment, property owners can have their 2026 property assessment (payable in 2027) reduced to reflect the disaster damage. Please note that minimal damage, such as detached gutters or missing shingles, will not likely result in a reduced value. Property owners must have actual structural damage to their home or outbuildings to qualify.
- Must be a taxpayer/property owner in Jasper County, Indiana.
- Must have experienced significant structural damage or complete loss to property structures.
- Must file Form 137R for a reassessment of the partially or totally destroyed property.
- Must provide photos of the structures requiring reassessment to document the damage.
Download and complete Indiana Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF) Form 137R to request reassessment for disaster-related property damage. Submit the completed form to the Jasper County Assessor’s Office as soon as possible, and include photos documenting the structural damage.
Call the Jasper County Assessor’s Office to request Form 137R by mail or email, or to ask questions about what documentation to include and where to return the completed form.
