In response to severe storm damage and widespread power outages, the City of Gary and the Legacy Foundation have launched the Weatherhead Repair Assistance Program. The program provides direct emergency financial aid to low- and moderate-income homeowners whose electrical service entrances or weatherheads were damaged by falling trees and high winds.

Because power companies cannot reconnect power until private electrical equipment is fixed, this grant covers licensed electrician repairs so displaced residents can safely restore power to their homes.

Must be a homeowner residing in the City of Gary, Indiana whose primary residence must have sustained storm damage specifically to the electrical weatherhead, meter box, or service mast.
